So you have coffin reservoirs I assume? Rectangular as opposed to the "urine sample" jobs?

If they are coffins, a little seepage around there seems fairly common. But not "leaking" as in dripping wet.

If you can't see any damage to the rubber and it still seems flexible and soft it should be fine.

The casting on those covers is not the greatest. Check and make sure there isn't some irregularity, corrosion, dirt in between the"mating" surfaces. IIRC the "mating" surfaces were an unfinished casting. I actually took a fine file and very carefully smoothed the outer "mating" surfaces of my covers to allow a better seal.  They still show very slight "dampness" around the cover but I wouldn't call it a leak.

There are also overpriced aftermarket billet cover available that "should" be more nicely machined. A search might provide some info on their effectiveness at stopping that seepage.

thanks - i don't notice any seeping except for when i got it back from its service and they told me it's leaking. yes it's the 'coffin' type and they wouldn't be refering to any other 'rubber plug' inside that you know of?

So why didn't they fix it?

I guess I'd call them and ask them to explain.

There are no other replaceable rubber parts listed for the coffin master cylinders other than what I would call the diaphragm in the reservoir and the little rubber plug that activates your brake light micro-switch. The latter would obviously not cause leaking...

At any rate if there is any significant amount of "leaking" anywhere you should see some fluid no?  I'm cornfused.
The only thing I can think of they possibly might have meant is the diaphragm has a cut or tear in it that is allowing fluid to get on top of it . But I'd think you'd see some fluid coming out the air holes in the cover in that case. If you pull off the cover you should be able check that out easy enough.
