Default Summer trip

Anybody planning on taking a trip this summer? I was thinking about going around the Great Lakes(maybe just Lake Superior), maybe even up to Canada or maybe even out to South Dakota (BEFORE STURGIS) to see and ride around Mount Rushmore etc. I could go by myself, but company is always nice. Let me know if anybody wants to go. I'm looking at doing this later on in July or maybe August.

Anyway just wondering if anybody else wants to ride. It might not be as extensive as treking across the whole US. Depending on scheduling it might just be a long weekend ride. I'm open to sugestions for routes or roads to try once I get somewhere.

I've taken a summer trip with a group of friends the past few years and it's something I always look forward to. We did the Lake Superior Circle Tour last year (counter-clock wise, starting in Wisconsin) and it's a trip I'd highly recommend - not many twistie roads, but the scenery is worth the long, droning roads. Desmo's reports from The Dragon and Missouri have served as thought fodder this year and we're looking at a trip through northern Wyoming/southern Montana in late summer sometime. Enduring 600 miles through South or North Dakota to get there doesn't sound like fun, but we're entertaining the crazy idea of doing this haul all in one day. Whatever you are thinking, my advice is to just do it!

Headed to Ouray in August for Ducati in the Rockies.

Other than that, I usually take a couple hundred mile trips every other weekend... gotta go that far to find curves in the road! F'n Fargo!

This summer, I started a monthly day-trip with a group of family and friends. The plan is to do a day-trip on the Third Thursday of each month.

Our kickoff trip was a ride to Duluth in May. The next ride is comin' up this week. We're going to do the MN River Scenic Byway, making a back-roads loop through towns like St Peter, New Ulm, Granite Falls, and Montevideo.

I like the idea of a 300-400 mile trip once a month. Much more manageable for my work/life schedule.

If you are still considering Ouray, I have room in an enclosed trailer! Just gotta split the gas.

Depending on how your plans develop, I'd be open for a 3-4 day weekend excursion.
Camping is cool.
Twisties at moderate pace ;D

Like everything else timing is the issue... keep posting if you please
