I saw a black monster like the one I rode last year in the White Bear Lake area.* Then I saw one early on a weekday morning in downtown minneapolis.* Both times we acknowledged each other.* But recently I had a Monster sighting while on my Monster and the rider didn't even give me a glance.* Here's the situation: 35W southbound in Minneapolis was closed due to bridge cleaning so traffic was detoured on 280.* Well there just happened to be an accident on 280 when I was driving through so the traffic was very slow, 1st gear slow.* There were some bikers behind me but they never came up along side me or passed me.* Once the traffic started picking up here a Monster cruises right past me and the rider never gave me even a glance.* Certianly he/she knew I was on a Monster since it's pretty distinct looking even from the back.* I don't get it... I was a bit offended.* I understand when Harley riders don't wave but a fellow Monster rider.... come on... where's the love?

I frequent 35w in the mornings but tend to avoid it for the commute home. Depending on my mood I tend to take 47 in and cut across broadway or take 65 in and head down university to work. I can't say that I've run across many ducs on the way in or out lately. I tend to wave to most people provided the cars around me don't need my immediate attention or I'm on the clutch. I atleast try to get a head nod in. I wave to all and get mixed results. I just get used to it, some wave, some don't see me, some snub me. Heck I even wave to mopeds. I figure if I wave it might get others more likely to wave even if they don't the first time.

I know what you mean about hearing the exhausts first. Mine is stock too and was hoping the rider I saw yesterday was on this board. His/her bike sounded nice and wanted to know what exhaust he/she had. I really need to hit italian night I think. if you see a guy wearing all black on a 695 dark with a red/white/silver helmet;sometimes I'll have a dark blue backpack,, i need to get a bag I think too.

- anyway thats me.

I just remembered another, no wave Ducati, incedent.

This past June I was driving up from St. Louis where I purchased my new Monster from a private seller. I had the bike on a trailer. I see a truck passing me and as it gets fully past me I noticed in the back of the pick-up was a yellow Monster. I thought that was pretty amazing and sweet. But the driver never tried to wave at me or nod his/her head or get my attention. And there is no way this driver didn't notice my monster strapped down to the trailer. I just don't get it.

It's like Larry David in Curb Your Enthusiasm wondering why a fellow prius driver didn't wave at him.

Was anyone riding a yellow monster on Stagecoach heading north out of Afton? Probably around 11:00 on Saturday.

Not a monster, but I saw a yellow superbike coming out of Hopkins to highway 7 yesterday around 7pm. Rider was wearing a yellow helmet and no jacket. I said hi from my car at a light but not sure if he heard me say I had a 695.

That is one nice bike! Heh, we spent a lot of time in the Hopkins movie theater last weekend. Looks like were turning on 169 anyways? Lucky you didn't turn back, or you would have had the joy of watching my heat-exhausted 5 year-old lean over and throw up all over the backseat of the car.* *:P

Hey Speedfreek,

I thought that your post was directed to me but I wasn't sure. I was about to turn around too, but I figured you would be long gone by the time I had a chance.

I am thinking of running down that way again sometime this weekend (most likely Saturday, but this will depend on the weather).

If you feel like riding (... who wouldn't?) and are free, we should hit up the twisties out there.
