Member Roll Call
Since we have so many new folks to the board this year I feel obligated to start the annual roll call post. It may be helpful for everyone to know a few facts and tid bits about everyone here so that we may develop a real riding community instead of just in cyber space. It may be helpful to give a few facts about who you are, where you are located (General), what kind of riding experience you have, whether you race, other interests, and what kind of bike(s) you have. This way we can all find a little bit more about the folks that post here at the DML.
I will start. My name is Kim and I ride an 2005 S2R with a full Arrow Carbon Exhaust. This is my second bike. My first was a 2002 620 Monster. I have been riding for 5 seasons. I love racing, watching that is, and photographing. I am a High School Art teacher. I am also an Artist/Photographer. I have a motorcycle book published called "Ride Hard, Ride Smart". I am the origionator of "Notte Italiana" Italian night at Betty's. I live in my own house in South Mpls (near Nokomis) with my sister and my two cats. I am marrying another DML'er in June. :-*
Here is the MYspace profile http://www.myspace.com/monstergirl
Ok so who's next...................... ;D

Re: Spring Roll Call
I'm Mike.
A law student at the University of St. Thomas at the downtown Minneapolis campus. After this semester I have one year left before I get to get a job and get on with my life!
I ride a 2002 620 dark. I picked it up last August, so this will be my first full season riding as well. I try to do all of my own maintenance, but am still debating about my upcoming 12k service. We'll see if I'm brave enough to try that on my own.
Not a lot of mods so far, tail chop, rizoma bar ends and mirrors, new chain and sprockets and a few other things.
That's about all I have ...

Re: Spring Roll Call
Ok, I'll go.
My name is Kevyn and I picked up a 2000 750 last weekend. I've been lurking about the board for about 6 months and posted a few days ago about riding the bike back from Wisconsin. I'm very new to motorcycling, but plan on being the guy who sticks out because he's always wearing overpants, helmet, boots and jacket. I teach and go to school at the U (counseling psychology) and also work as an eating disorder therapist. Mods to the bike: D&D exhaust, CC triple and clip-ons, headlight fairing, and a sidestand bypass that is causing me a great deal of grief when trying to start the bike. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't.
Also, I think I saw a DML'er today in Dinkytown. Yellow bike with ohlins rear shock?

Re: Spring Roll Call
I'm Ross.
I design and build fancy furniture.
Started riding dirt bikes in 1970. Raced motocross from '71-75 on a 250 Husky. Went to street bikes in '76. Had a couple 750 I-4's sold the last one in '85.
Just got back into it last July with the M800. Put 6,000 miles on it before the snow flew.
It now lies in pieces in my shop until I get back from a show in D.C. on April 24, at which time a concerted effort will be put forth to get the dammmm thing back together. It will be different...
I want a motard.

Hey - that was me! ;D
I'm a regular at Al's Breakfast. I'm typically dining at Al's once or twice per week during the riding season (but not on weekends -- the place is too busy). [thumbsup]

Re: Spring Roll Call
My name is Gabe...I like long walks on the beach, and cuddling with my monster? Oh wait, wrong forum.
I race a 620M in the CRA. You can check the bike out in February's featured monster.
http://www.ducatimonster.org/feature...red_feb06.html
My current streetbike is a CBR600rr...I'm going to turn it into a Repsol/Rossi '03 replica...I've always got a project going of some sort...I build and create things, I'm always thinking of how to make something that either doesn't exist, or needs to be made better...weird? yeah I know.
I've been riding for a long time and have owned a variety of two wheeled machines...I'm on my third Ducati right now.
You can find me at Notte Italiana every month, the racetrack, riding the twisties on the weekends, or wherever monstergirl is. [laugh]
You guys are welcome to ride with myself and monstergirl on the weekends...We like to take off in the morning and ride for the day...An average ride for us is 4-5 hours and involves as many curves as we can get in...Please wear gear and ride responsibly. [thumbsup]
Ok,...I've got a myspace profile too. : http://www.myspace.com/9192122
cheers!

Re: Spring Roll Call
I'm paranoid about posting real-life stuff on the Internet, so if I ever make it to one of your Italian Nights, I'll share my name and job or whatever there In the meantime, I just picked up a new S2R (and put about 370 miles on it this weekend). I'm getting back into riding after some years off - I had a 81 Honda CM400E when I was 18 or so, and a 82 Yamaha Maxim 650 when I was in college in the late 90s. I was never too serious about riding well or safely when I was a kid, but this time I'm trying to do things right.
Hey Gabe, I hope you bought Kim some overpants and gloves! (from her myspace pics). And Shrink - pants, gloves, helmet, and jacket don't stick out like, "newbie here," they stick out like, "guy who values his skin here." If you're starting out, and you're wearing good gear, you're ahead of the curve, and it doesn't mean you should stop wearing any of your gear when you get experienced!
I'm into photography, too - on Sunday I was riding around in the country with my Canon and a bunch of lenses strapped to my back in a messenger bag, but I kept forgetting to stop and shoot.

Re: Spring Roll Call
Not comfortable doing this but here goes, name is ryan, I currently have a '00 750 dark with low mount leoVinci's and some upgrades.
I wear a leather jacket that's not padded enough, no leather suit, but should probably have one, and just purchased my first graphic helmet, red Shoei Kagayama.
Graduated from Stout with a design degree and currently working as a user experience designer (everything from UI design, to coding, to usability).
Like a few others here, photography is a hobby of mine. Married to a wonderful understanding woman w/ no kids, a dog with ADD, two cats, one belimic and the other looks like a football with toothpicks for legs.
Netflix rocks, johnny depp is my favorite actor, Tim burton my favorite director, and Kelly Hue is a goddess. Google her if you have no idea who she is.
Whew, I guess that wasn't so bad after all.
next please...
