Default Triangle Italians - January 5th Gathering

We will be gathering on Saturday, January 5th and taking a trip down to Pinehurst. This event is being put together with other Italian sportscar groups around the state. We are in contact with the Charlotte Area Ferrari Enthusiasts as well as the North Carolina chapter of the Ferrari Club of America in attempt to bring enthusiasts from all over North Carolina together. We will be gathering at the Porsche/Jaguar/Audi dealership in the Cary Auto Park at 8:30 AM on the 5th. We will leave from there and head to Pinehurst, with the intention of arriving around 10 AM. We will be gathering and eating lunch at the Tavern at the Pinehurst Golf Resort. You can view a menu at the following address: http://www.pinehurst.com/new/menus/T...unch070314.pdf
Following lunch, we will head over to Mini Pines putt putt and go karts and duke it out on the track. Once everyone is sufficiently worn out, we'll make the trek home.

We'd like to work with the Pinehurst staff so that they can accommodate us as a group. As a result, we ask that everyone please RSVP to this event by December 30th.

Spread the word and I hope to see some of you there.

It's looking clear but chilly for next Saturday. Anyone planning to make the trip?

This sounds like fun, I'm in Columbia, SC but would love to come to a get together but don't know the locations that you are talking about. I know charlotte and that is only an hour away (can do that, no problem) but I don't know the rest. Where is pinehurst? and when you say Cary, is that up by RTP?

I am sure everybody would be so excited to come to this but just like me have been tied up with family over the holidays.

Honestly, maps.google.com is going to be your best bet for getting an idea of where these places are. It can show you a lot better than I can explain. Pinehurst is located in Moore County, north of Rockingham, which is near the SC border. Cary is a suburb of Raleigh, so it is a part of the RTP.

Thanks for the invite Eric [thumbsup] but I don't think I will be able to make it this month.

I'll make the next one if given enough notice. How did it go?

It went well.

14 Ferrari's
2 Alfa's
No bikes.

We ate lunch at the country club and had really nice weather. Then we went over and toured a kick ass restoration shop. They specialize in Gullwing SL Mercedes, but they'll do anything. An Aston Martin they did this past year tied for first at Pebble Beach. They had two 60's Mustangs, a Packard, and quite a few classic Benzs. If you look at the picture on the bottom, the bare frame in the back left side is a tube frame from a mid 50's gullwing stripped down completely. The body was on a rotisserie having custom metal panels hammered out by hand. We happened to notice the board where the records and current bills are kept and people were paying almost $300,000 to have these SL's restored. Scary.
