Default Suggestions for Indy GP Seating

I posted this a thread on this in the General Monster section but then I realized that I might as well go to the people who live in the area and ask them. I am looking into getting some tickets to the MotoGP in September for my dad for Christmas. However, I have never been to a MotoGP race (or a motorcycle race for that matter) before and I have no idea where it would be best to sit. I have been looking at the track map and the availability of seats and it looks like section H might be a good option as we may be able to see the straight and quite a few turns.

You guys probably all know the track but here is a map on their website that shows what it will look like: http://www.redbullindianapolisgp.com...togpcourse.php

Any suggestions on seating would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have been told that many hotels are already booked up. Are there are any suggestions on where I should look for a decently priced hotel? Thanks in advance for all your help.

Hey Mike, most of our club discussion about MotoGP has been going on here http://www.hoosierhooligans.org/foru...hp?topic=597.0 on our new site.

We've got rooms reserved through our club for most of our members. I don't know that it's possible to add onto our group reservation now but you will find some hotel info in that thread that might help you make a reservation.

As of now I think the clubs are working on getting group seating so that all us Duc owners are together. None of us have actually gotten tickets yet but are anxiously waiting to do so. Info about that is discussed in the above thread as well....

Hope this helps

I certainly think that the best seats will be based on where all the Duc owners are, not where the best view is. I've been to quite a few AMA SBK races with the Hoosier Hooligans and alone. A great view lets you see a bunch of bikes wizzzing by quickly and hearing the awesome sounds they make. If you get a seat in a nasty corner you can even check out a few wrecks.

If you get a seat around a bunch of Duc owners then you have a great time chatting it up, drinking beer, and having a good time, while pointing out crashes and listening to the bikes fly by.

I enjoy the camaraderie much more than watching the race. In fact, the best view is usually from a chair in the Ducati Owners tent, watching the race on a big screen TV setup there and hanging out with other Duc enthusiasts.... at least in my opinion.

With that said, if you do come, bring the registration or proof of insurance for your Duc. I don't know that MotoGP will work the same as the AMA races, but at the AMA races they were required to prove Duc ownership and gain access to the tent

Hey BryanS I have another question. I am looking at those hotels that were mentioned in the threat, particularly the Country Inn & Suites but I can't find the one that is talked about in that thread. It says the Country Inn & Suites in Carmel, IN in the thread but on their website I can't find any Country Inn & Suites in Carmel, only some in Indianapolis. Is this the same city? I found a hotel that it says is 8 miles from IMS. I'm assuming this is the same hotel that most of the D.O.C. are going to be in.

many of us have reservations here:

Drury Inn
9320 N MICHIGAN ROAD
INDIANAPOLIS, IN. 46268
317-876-9777

If I had to guess about the Country Inn, I'd say that this is the one

http://www.countryinns.com/indyin_north

It's listed as an Indy hotel but has a Carmel mailing address. Carmel is a rich suburb or Indy. I suppose you could always call and ask the people at that hotel if they've got reservations made for the race?

FYI the hotels closer to the speedway are dumps. I was told so by the local firefighters.
If you can try to get a room at the Drury Inn or the Country Inn [thumbsup]
