Default Kaboom?

I'm trying to use a 1991 mustang gt fuel pump in my 2000 monster 900. I know I have to snip the connector that goes from the fuel level sensor to the pump and replace it with the one for the mustang pump. Should I be worried about creating an explosive situation with exposed wires or something?

Hmmm. Let's see. Exposed wires + electrical current + gasoline . . .

Nah, I don't see any problem with that.

Tell the truth now - exactly how much $ will you save by using a Ford fuel pump and not an original Ducati part? 'Cause you're about to spend a bunch more on medical care.

You kidding right? For a proper retrofit to your bike try some duct tape...

You guys are con tradicting yourselves. I did'nt invent the concept of using a ford fuel pump. It's suggested several times on this site including one suggestion by one of your gurus, chris kelly. the ford fuel pump is $140 cheaper.

Smile kaboom!!!!!!!!!!!

I know some of you have used a mustang fuel pump in place of the ducati monster pump. My question is, what protocol should I use to ensure I don't explode due to the connector I attach to the fuel sensor wires. I have a 2000 monster 900. Any help would be appreciated.
