Default My New Toy! Vroom Vroom!

I'm very happy! Going to slap a touring seat on it though as I truly understand what everyone calls "Monster Balls" now.

Plus it was the first sunny day in Jersey in a while!

Question for M1100 Owners: I wanted to ask, do you get wrist pain in your right hand? I've owned two bikes before this and never had this problem? Is it because the reach is too far or the bars are bent funny?

Also please check out my thread in the accessories section I need some advice: http://www.ducatimonster.org/forums/...ml#post2302720

Thanks!

Gratz! And I get a lot of numbness in my right arm but I also have nerve damage in my elbow.

How tall are you? Your wrist pain is likely the bend. Try the Rizoma bar - it's a easy swap - and allows a more natural/upright riding position. It's just a tad taller, but with more pullback than the stock bar. I'm 6'2, and with those bars, the modded seat, and aftermarket pegs... I finally have it "dialed in" so I can ride for hours without discomfort.

Also, regarding your wrist pain - what type of speed is your typical commute at? Stop & go or highway? If you get it out on the highway, it takes most of the load off your wrists - so if you are doing that and STILL have the wrist pain, then it's definitely the bar bend. You'll likely adjust SOMEWHAT to it after a couple of weeks... the stop & go part, anyway.

I'm mostly doing around town and stop and go because of the whole "vary RPMs during the first hours of riding" thing.

I'm 5'8" the reach does feel kind of far, and I feel like I'm putting a lot of weight on my arms too. Does anyone have a pic of the Rizmoa bars? I'd like to see

Yeah, stop & go will do a number on the wrists no matter what. Look at my post titled "This where we say Hi?" and you'll see pics of the bars. Otherwise, pm me with your email address and I'll send larger images to you.

As with all the monsters, change a few small bits here and there and then it looks great.

Nice bike, I wasn't very fond of the new styling at first but riding one changed that.

I'm not fond of the mirrors in both functionality or looks at all really.

Rear sets will have to come a lot further down the road. I need to get my comfort issues settled first. Gonna go check out those Rizoma bars

Hey Randy,

I checked out your photos in your thread

http://www.ducatimonster.org/forums/...we-say-hi.html

I have to say I feel like the bars bring the controls closer but they do that by bending the bar more. Wouldn't this present a different problem of your wrists being turned out funny? Or am I looking at these bars wrong?

To me some clip-ons seem to be something more worthwhile
