Default Long rides

I'm curious to know what sort of single / multi day distance people do on their Monsters. Any long single or multi day trips out there? My longest single day was 720 miles on my 848 from Fairbanks, Ak to Anchorage and back. Going through Denali park in the early morning at 39 degrees F was miserable but beautiful. The afternoon was near 70 and perfect. Got to see McKinley on the way, just amazing. Anyone else?

I did 1000 one time, but having done it, I put it on my "never again" list.

What model do you have? Aftermarket or stock seat?

It was many years ago on a cruiser, but as I recall, the wind noise and staying in a normal riding position is what killed me.

I do around 600-700km's for day trips on the Monster, find that an easy ride and still feel good when the day is over. Think that's about 400 miles or just over???
I love the bike!!

I did 11 hours on my S4 from Chicago to Burmingham (Barber museum) that was rough. I decided to take 2 days to get back. I would do it again but would take 2 days down and 2 back, that hotel hot tub felt sooo good.

Dude! That's alot of miles on an 848! And in that temperature? Props man. The coldest I've ever been was crossing Vail Pass in Colorado in late June, but there was still snow piled WAY high and temps in the low 30s (F). Even though I put on every stitch of clothes I could fit under my leathers, I still froze my ass off. That was many years ago on a Japanese I4. I did a couple 600 mile days on that trip.

I've done a few 300+ mile days on my S2r here (So CA) and it was not a problem at all. In fact I love it but I just don't have the time for much of that anymore. (This stupid job gets in the way of all my fun.) I rode an S4 and S2 in Italy for nine days and managed around 350 - 400 miles a couple of those days but it was a completely different experience. There were some fantastic mountain roads and unbelievable food at every stop so if my ass hurt I never noticed.

Wink Mileage

Went to Catalunya Moto GP last June did 170 miles the first day and about 500 Miles per day the next 2 days from my home in Wales (in the UK). I must admit I was a bit saddle sore by the time I got back to Le Harve in Northern France to get back to the UK. But on the plus side the roads in France and Spain are superb. Also went to Mugello in Italy the year before which was further but was spread over 3 days - again superb roads and lovely restaurants - highly recommended.
