Default Problem installling sliders on '09 696

I am installing the SpeedyMoto sliders and have the replacement engine stud through from the right side to the left where it has hung up just past the engine. It pushed the original engine mounting stud out before it got past the frame and now it is misaligned. I have tried jacking the engine, compressing and extending the rear suspension and can't get the frame to pivot to align with the engine. Any suggestions?

If you are on a rear stand, try taking it off and supporting the bike from the kick stand. I had a similar problem and taking the bike off the stand moved the weight of the engine enough to get the bar in

Thanks for replying. I have the bike in a Condor rack so it is on the ground and standing straight up. How hard did you hit the engine stud to get it through the frame? I'm afraid that I will damage the threads on the stud.

Default Success

Thanks for the tip, I took the bike out of the Condor rack and put it on the kickstand and the engine stud went right in. Thanks again.
