Dropped going 0 mph :-(
We are riding through nice curvy routes and I catch up to my two other friends and get off my bike put the stand down and walk a few feet away to talk to my friends. Next thing I know about 30 seconds later I hear this aweful crash sound. My bike just took a dive onto the pavement. It was aweful sound. Uneven pavement did it in. I usually rock it back and forth to make sure but in my excitement I did not check this time :-( I am so glad I had the frame sliders (speedy moto) on as that saved the bike. CRG mirror was bent and got some gas leak near the tank hinge. It seems the hinge weld is loose and is leaking from that area. My friend is putting the weld clay on it now and will see if that does it. I was able to ride the bike back to my aparmtmeht for another 68 miles.
Previous night I almost dropped at my apartment parking lot but was able to break the fall with my leg and slowly lay it. Small scuffs on the front fender.
Never dropped since 2004, but in one weekend twice. WTF !
It just was a bad weekend for me.
Moral of the story - get frame sliders for such occasions. (Of course frame sliders have their negative sides at high speeds too. )
