Default Can anyone help

My 05 620 dark won't start. I had this problem when i bought the bike in May. A new battery solved the problem, but now its back. Battery just doesn't have enough power to start it. If i charge it for a bit it'll start right up. But let it sit for a few hours and then won't start just clicks. I've checked with a volt meter after it come of charge its got around 12.7volts, while running its got around 13.8 to 14 volts. After i let it sit for a couple hours I checked it again was getting around 12.4 volts. When iI turn the key the lights and gauges come on and it drops to around 10.5volts. And when the button is pushed it drops the around 9.2 volts not enough to start it. The battery is a new Yuasa put in after I first had the problem. I don't know if i have bad luck with batteries or is it something else. I was riding just about every day and now this. If anyone can help I thank you alot.

I sounds like you just got stuck with a bad battery. Charging voltage w/ bike running sounds good. However, if batteries continue to die while the bike is sitting I'd start looking for a "dead draw", that is, something electrical that is sucking the juice out of you rbattery while the bike is turned off. Are there any aftermarket electrical parts on the bike?

Not that i know of. I've checked the bike for a short but it seems fine. I'm starting to think it just a bad battery. The Battery that came with the bike i know was bad. But this one was brand new, what could have caused it go bad bad in only 3 months. Thats why I thought it might be the bike.

Still having no luck with the problem. I try to charge the battery, but as soon as I unhook it and try to start the bike nothung happens. I can boost start the bike using a car. I let it run for a little bit and try nothing again. The voltage on the battery just drains really fast. I can hear the fuel pump going and the it just clicks when I press the starter.

Judging by what you've said, I'd go with the bad battery theory. Sometimes they are just sh*tty from the start. It happens. On the other hand, is it a "sealed" battery, or does it have 6 little screws on the top? If it has the screws, does it have acid to the top? If the level in the cells has dropped to lower than about 1/2" below the top, add DISTILLED (I can't stress that enough...has to be distilled) water to the cells and charge it slowly overnight. That could be your problem, wouldn't be the first time it's happened.

Ditto on DearHunter's diagnosis...bad battery seems to be it. If the fluid levels check out, maybe you can take it to a place that sells batteries that has a "load tester". It's a hand held tool that hooks up to your batteries pos. and neg. terminals and then with the touch of a button or trigger on the device simulates that load placed on the battery when the engine is cranking over. The gauge on the tester will tell you for sure. To me, if the battery is new and reading a full charge then the voltage drops way down below as the engine's cranking over...that's pretty much your load test right there. If it was your charing system (ie. rotor or stator) it would take a little time for a fully charged battery to wear down to the point of not being able to turn over your stater motor.

I recently had a similar problem with a sealed battery not being able to take a charge, the dealer replaced it no questions asked.
