Default So close to the end so little time to enjoy

Guys and Gals,
Let me say that this time next week I will be sitting at the airport waiting to take that long honkin flight flight back to Baghdad. When I came home a lil over two weeks ago my beautiful wife took me to Comp A in Springfield Ohio and would not let me leave without my Duc. We bought an O8 S4RS TriColore (#310). This is the third Ducati I have owned. I had an old 87 Cagiva and a Mid 90's 750SS that I raced for several years. Let me say that the improvements over time made by Ducati has been amazing. The Monster rocks. It handles like nothing I have ever throen a leg over, including the Supersport spec GXSR 750 that I had a chance to ride in a WERA Endurance race. The power and how it comes on is literally breathtaking. After spending three bills on the 600 mile service, I tool it out and opened it up and really it took my breath.....wow! I wish I had this bike when I was racing. the Ohlins forks and shocks altho not sprung for my big middle aged ace (OMG is this a mid-age crisis I am having) it still is silky smooth and lets you feel as if you are really riding the big rail on some of my central Ohio semi twisties.
Soon, i will be putting it up on the stands that I havn't bought yet, hooking up the battery tender and putting a cover on it. The S4 will sit for a long quiet fall, winter and spring, if all is good this time next year i will put another 1000 miles on it. In the meantime i will be watching you all from the hot sands of southern Iraq.

Ciao

Mic

Mic -

Good luck, stay safe, and thank you for your service! I can not imagine leaving my wife for a year, let alone a Tricolore - hope the time passes quick for you.

I second the sentiment... thanks for your service.

I am in Cincinnati, so post a message when you're back. BBQ - my treat. You are just up I-75 from me, so we could meet any one of several places. I'll bet you'll have some stories to tell. And, maybe you can give me some maintenance tips for my S4 .

I'm a middle aged guy, so I mostly ride the local twisties, and try to avoid hitting deer ($4K damage to a Explorer a couple years ago). They are everywhere around here. Good luck, and stay safe so you can get back to the loves of your life.
