Default GPS Mount, do you think this will work?

Just came across this mount on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...OMOBOX:NEWLIST I've been looking for a mount like this that sits low and horizontal because I ride a lot of highways and without a fairing the front ends gets beat up pretty bad by the wind. My only question is whether or not this will be stable enough? I think it's designed for a bicycle, and it only has one screw that tightens it down. Is this how all gps mounts are?

I bought a mount for my garmin from these guys. I use it on my monster that has no fairing it works great and with little to no vibration http://www.mountguys.com/

Check this out from Desmo times. It mounts it right to the top of the triple. I've seen one in person and it is the least obtrusive one you can find.

If you still have the factory bars that sit on the riser on the top triple that mount works great. i posted a while ago a pic, but it was deleted, it showed my Etrex Legend on a mount similar to that and the great part was that it was right thiere with the gauges.

I was looking at www.mountguys.com and they have one similar to the original I posted. http://www.mountguys.com/product_p/rap-274-to4.htm

It specifically says not for motorcycle use, but I don't really see what the difference is between this and the ones they say are for motorcycles. I think I will call them tomorrow to find out.

Thats exactly what I'm looking for. I hate the look of all those other stands that make it stick so far off the bars. Plus I'm used to looking in that area anyways. Did you safety wire it in somehow or just use it as is?

To be clear, these were on a 695 w/ Speedymoto upper triple, and clip ons.

Yes they should definitely rename themselves www.mounting-guys.com would be much better.

Then all their satisfied customers could say "I love mounting guys" [laugh]

I use a similar mount on my S2R for my Garmin (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1056) - works like a charm.
