Default Re: Ducati 1098

Like CopperheadMonster said, what from the pics says that it's a 1098? I thought the plan was for a 1188 bike, 916 inspired. The mag probably just took a rumor or two and added spy pics. I dare say that it'd be easy for Ducati to mod some 999 plastics to the chassis of the 1188 and just take more time with the new plastics *and* keep it a little under cover. Makes total sense to me, not only that but the plastics on this bike don't have the right lines at all, they match themselves but not the rest of the bike.

Default It will be a 1198?

Just picked up July Two wheels only mag - there is a article there about 1200cc ducati and FIM etc. BUt it concludes by saying that regadrless of the FIM or whoever approving the 1200cc limit for SBK racing, Ducati will go forth and increase the capacity - that is official stated direction from ducati is to continue L-twin as main stay and increase the capacity for competetive performance with other sportbikes. 4cylinder ducatis wil be rare demosedici models only and will not make mainstream models as it may dilute the brand.
