Dainese Sizing Question
I recently bought a Dainese Nevada jacket. I live in Texas so it will come in handy. In the cold months I wear an Alpinestars jacket, but after seeing the Nevada - I had to get it for the 'hot' months.
I wear a 42 in dress jackets and also a 42 in my Alpinestars (It fits fine). I am a large in all of my shirts (t-shirts, coats, dress shirts, etc) I bought a 52 for the Nevada and it seems 'just right'. Does Dainese fit smaller than other brands.
I am 6'2, have a 40-42 chest, a 32 waist, and weigh 178-182. Should I have gone with the 54? I was afraid that it would be too baggy in the back and arms, but the 52 seems a little short. Is that normal?

Re: Dainese Sizing Question
I would expect the short torso length would be a non-issue, since bike jackets are supposed to be short. You may find the short arms to be frustrating though... I wear a 52 in Dainese and my only complaint is the arms being not quite long enough. I'm only 6'0" though.

After so much work, why is it that I still can't help but consider buying other bikes?

Re: Dainese Sizing Question
given your sizing info the 54 would be hella large especially after you've worn it a while and it breaks in/stretches. unfortunately i found that one out the hard way (started with 54 had to sell and then get a 52).

Re: Dainese Sizing Question
I typically wear a size 42 suit but my 2 Dainese jackets are size 50. I find their sizing is pretty generous versus either Alpinestars and Rev'it. I could go up to a size 52 if I wore a sweat shirt underneath but usually get away with just wearing a long sleeve shirt for cold weather. The Dainese store recommends to keep the fit snug so long as your movement is not compromised.

Re: Dainese Sizing Question
Thanks for the advice. I like my gear to be a little snug since I don't like it 'flapping in the wind' and if I need it to protect me it's not sliding out of place in a spill. I just wasn't certain on the size. I'll keep the 52.

Dainese is in Euro measurement, go on the web and get the conversion from Euro to US for measuring mens/womens jackets. It is about 10 numbers Higher for the Euro. I.E. I have a 44 chest measurement for my suit jacket(US) the euro measurement is 54. Most jacket places tell you to go up 1 or 2 sizes from your chest measurement, so I actually wear a 46 (US) and 56 (euro) . I hope this helps.

i ended up with a Dainese 54 jacket. I am 5'7", 32" waist and 44" chest. The 54 fits very good all over. Maybe 0.5" long in the arms when standing, but perfect when stretched on the bike. Dainese pants on the other hand have very weird sizing/positioning of the lower leg armour. I think i need to get new boots now to fit my calves + the lower armour.

I agree. I wear a 52 in other brands, but 50 in a Dainese. Strange, though, since I have a 52 Dainese-made Ducati 80s jacket--which fits just like a 50 in everything else Dainese makes.

The Dainese chart listed on here is very close--
DAINESE "Nevada" Jacket
I thought the Nevada Jacket was a loose cut jacket compared to the other Dainese jackets. I could fit one size smaller on that jacket.
