Default Tank Bag and A Monster

I'm wondering how well a tank bag will work to help cut down on wind blast for longer trips? I'm not used to riding a bike with no fairings and I find it to be quite tiring on the highway after an hour or so. I had the idea of getting a tank bag and using it to help take some of the wind blast off my body. Does anyone do this and does it work?

I don't believe the tank bag will help with the wind blast at all.

I put on a Zero Gravity Touring screen and the wind blast is hardly noticeable. You, however, need the front fairning to start with.

The screen also comes in clear or light smoke, I have dark smoke.

I like the way the bike looks better without the fairing. I may have to consider a set up like you have that I can just throw on quickly if I plan on doing a real ride. Around town it's not really a big deal.

Put the fairing on with the Zero gravity screen and Poorduc fairing supports and you will be good to go. Much less fatiguing and you can cruise at much higher speeds.

Default Wind Blast

My 2007 S2R has the fairing/ Screen. It is a huge help. I too was used to full fairing bikes and initially thaought WTF have i done when doing soem highway time. My tank bag does nothing to help except give you something to rest your chest on.....

Go with the screen/faitring and tuck in on highway it does help.

Anyone have this windscreen?

It looks like it would look a little more subtle but still provide some wind protection.

I picked up a Dart flyscreen last fall. I actually do notice an improvement... the wind doesn't hit my chest like it used to.

As for the tankbag only... It'll cut down lot's of wind... on your belt. Average sized bags, if there is such a thing, is too close to your riding position to make a noticable difference.

I've read good things about about the GIVI Airstars Windscreen A750. Supposedly it cuts down on wind blast a lot. I think I'm going to get one for my monster. The wind blast on the chest can be fatiguing when doing highway miles for any length and that can be dangerous.
