Default Sidi Streetburner - Anyone have? Reviews?

I am thinking about purchasing the Sidi Streetburner. Anyone have any reviews? Good? Bad?
Thanks

Online reviews that I have seen have been very positive, but I gave up trying to buy them as everywhere I called where sold out.

For my safety needs I would say that they do not cover enough of the leg. Low ankle boots will not be as protective in a crash as a real boot. I responded to a accident in my ambulance once for a guy in a short boot like this. His mother went back to the scene looking for his ankle bone because she did not want the animals to get it. Dress for the crash, not the ride.

I agree with all of this, and my normal boot is a full sized Sidi (they fit me well and offer excellent protection.) I did get a set of the new Streetburners for more causal riding. They size up the same as the full size Sidis, and I find them very comfortable, easy to get on and off, and very easy to adjust.

I ordered early. I understand they are sold out into mid July. Dave

For a low boot (big, big caveat there), these appear to offer pretty OK protection, though I notice the achilles tendon is pretty exposed -- it's covered by thin, stretchy padding. Oddly enough, it looks a whole lot like my old Sidi Adrenaline mountain bike shoe, which they marketed heavily to downhill/freeriders & cyclocross racers.

That monofilament adjuster across the top of the foot is a pretty cool design, and straight off the Sidi Energy road bicycle racing shoes I've been flogging hard for nearly five years now. They get worn & gritty fairly quickly and take two hands to loosen after they start to get sticky, but its a decent design and Sidi sells a replacement kit for when it gets broken or just too annoying.

For what it's worth, NewEnough's website seems to indicate they're going to be stocking a wide range of sizes in Mid-June.

Thanks for the reviews/advice. After reading your reviews/advice and on BARF, I went with the Dainese Torque in. Much more comfortable, fit under my pants, less flashy, and have the additional shin protection. Plus, they are the same price and immediately available. Also, I bought them at the SF Dainese shop and I thought the customer service was much, much better than Scuderia West.
