Default You know how much it pisses you off when you snap a shoelace...

I am experiencing that feeling on a whole new level. Attached are photos of the nifty little pull tab from the zipper on my jacket. Its a Tour Master Coaster II in black and brown, and I've had it for a month. A MONTH. Grrrrrr... >

:sigh: I've been meaning to take it to a leather shop ever since I got it. The velcro at the neck tab is already pulling away from the leather. Guess now I get to have a new zipper installed, too. Joy.

Anyone else have problems with Tour Master gear? I was thinking about getting a pair of their Apex riding pants, but now I'm thinking I might be better off looking elsewhere.

Paper clip. Zip tie. Safety wire. String. Zipper cord from outdoor store. Don't replace a whole zipper over losing a tab.

Or write to them or call them. They may offer to help you out.

I have a TourMaster tail bag; both of the zippers on the top flap did that. They're a poor design, but nothing to get to worked-up over. I still use the zippers, but the tabs are just (much) smaller now.

Meh. I shouldn't write while pissed. I got it from New Enough, so I'm sure if I really wanted to make an issue of it I could. Their customer service is great like that. Down side to that is that it'll cost me as much to ship it as it will to get a new zipper put on. Oh, well.

Seriously? You're this upset over a pulltab on a zipper?

If it were on, say, one of the chest vents or somewhere else that I don't use EVERY SINGLE TIME I put the jacket on, then it wouldn't be such a big deal. If there were enough of the pull tab left to get a decent hold on, it wouldn't be a big deal. If there were enough space on what remains of the pull tab to mount any sort of replacement pull tab, it wouldn't be a big deal. Hell, its not a big deal, it just irritates me.

I like the jacket. It fits well, keeps me warm, the armor is right where it needs to be, and it seems to be well made overall. It just kinda irks me that some of the details weren't better executed.

Oh, and before you all think me completely insane (whoops, too late) keep in mind that this is not some sort of extra pull tab where I'm left with the original zipper pull. The pull tab was molded onto the zipper pull and when it broke off, it took most of the zipper pull with it. There's still the loop that goes through the divider/combiner and a little U-shaped bit about 1/16" long and that's all that's left. All told, there's about 3/16" of pull left. There's not even any place I could put a shoelace or zip tie through it or I wouldn't be on here griping.

wait until you snap a shoelace and use the short piece to tie through the zipper. warm fuzzy feelings all around at the recycled dead shoelace.
