Old Times Jacket: MTECH or Dainese- difference?
Hiya,
A couple of months ago, I was at a Ducati dealer and tried on the Old Times jacket which I really liked- it was a Dainese and the Black/cream version. I was looking around online a couple of weeks ago and came across the same jacket so I decided to purchase it. They were a good online store and it arrived safely and on time but the inside says MTECH...
I've just done some searching here in the DML and have read that MTECH is an offshoot of Dainese so does that mean they are similiar in quality? I could have sworn the Dainese version I tried on was a more creamy colour (the sleeves) whereas this one seems more tan? Have any two DML stood side by side with these jackets and compared?
Thanks for reading,
jamie

Re: Old Times Jacket: MTECH or Dainese- difference?
MTECH is an affiliated company of Dainese. They use the same patterns and material. Dainese proceeded to this move in order to enter a lower market with qualitative and "value-for-money" products.
[thumbsup] for MTECH (especially their one-piece track suits - although they could do something with their "PowerRanger" colors ;D ).
My question is this: Did you pay less for this MTECH jacket than you would pay for the Dainese version?

Re: Old Times Jacket: MTECH or Dainese- difference?
Hiya,
It's hard to tell- the Dainese one was $750Cdn in the store, I think, and the MTech one I just purchased online was $400US which, at the moment, would make it much cheaper. There was a time that would make them almost equal, however...
I've come to the conclusion though that the arms are a light brown and not "cream". Perhaps I'm just being too picky, lol. It's still a nice jacket.

okay, I ordered a old times from good ole flea bay. Paid 300 bucks for it, it came I'm very happy with it. BUT it says Daytona on the inside which is an online shop of which i got it from. Is it authentic? or an exact knock off?

I think you already know the answer to that question...
