Icon Bombshell gear
OK, I have read through the "No Love for Icon" thread, and have checked out two threads in the Women's Forum, and the answer to my question is neither place.
Do any women riders here, or riders' girlfriends, or riders' friends own / use any of the Icon Bombshell gear?
My girlfriend wants to start riding pillion with me, and in searching the internet to give her ideas of gear she'll need, she latched onto the Icon Bombshell stuff. I'll be the first to say the stuff looks great 8) ;D, but does ANYONE have FHE with the stuff? Or, does anyone know anyone who has FHE?
Is it comfortable? Does it hold up in a crash? I was kind of against this stuff, but it is solid leather, and the jacket does have armor. Anyone have any thoughts, or know anyone who can provide insight?
Thanks!

From what I hear, if the icon bombshell pants actually fit your girlfriend, count your blessings and buy her whatever she wants [laugh]

Re: Icon Bombshell gear
get good gear..... real protection, not just something that looks good.

I was asking if it IS decent gear. I'm all over good gear and I'm proud to go ATGATT, I just forked over $$ to get my own Helimot 2-piece. I just thought I'd ask around here for any FHE before I do any serious shopping for my g/f.
I'd actually love it more if she'd want to ride her own bike [thumbsup]!

Re: Icon Bombshell gear
sorry.... I woke to hear this on the news this morning. I had just rolled over to tell Michelle.. "I think I'll ride to work today", then they ran the story.

That's a bummer of a story...
Similar, we have a kid here in NYC who had their 695 stolen yesterday during daylight in front of Columbia University. >
Not every day is a good days for riders...

Re: Icon Bombshell gear
i dont think your choice of leather pants is going to help much if your drunk boyfriend rides into a tree.
AFAIK...the bombshell pants dont have any armor.
i think you'll find that the 'cuter' womens gear is form fitting and will lack the armor (hips, back, etc) of the more track oriented gear.
take a look at this site, they have a nice selection of womens stuff
http://www.womenmotorcycleapparel.com/
also take a look at the Joe Rocket Roxie and Trixie lines. girlie colors and cut, but still have decent protection

Here's the thing, my ex-wife could wear the bombshell pants (seriously, they would fit her) and I still would be divorced from her 8)!
My g/f comes from "HarleyWorld" where... well, we all know what "riding gear" means in "HarleyWorld." It's a huge thing for me to get her thinking CE, full leather, etc...

Re: Icon Bombshell gear
and ignore the bombshell boots except for fun. I'll take G to a party or to lunch in them but if we're going anywhere far, anywhere fast, anywhere with lots of traffic, or she's riding her bike then it's sidis. The bombshell boots are not any different than a thick hiking boot.
(but for a quick short ride to an event, they get a lot of attention)
