Dainese pronunciation?

Howdy ya'll,
Any of you eye-talians know how to pronounce Dainese? I have said/heard it several different ways. I just got a set of leathers on ebay and don't want to sound like a dumb hick.

Re: Dainese pronunciation?

Rhymes with "Die in these"

Seriously though, it is great stuff. Got three four Dianese jackets myself and two sets of pants (leather + textile).

No longer hanging out here, sorry.

Re: Dainese pronunciation?

Thanks,
I've heard it like that, but it just sounded like a sick joke. I think they had a hard E on the end, (dyin' easy)

Re: Dainese pronunciation?

I think you're right. IIRC, the rule in Italian is that everything gets pronounced - there are no silent letters.

Re: Dainese pronunciation?

I don't even bother saying dainese anymore.

Even when I pronounce it correctly as die-neh-zeh I still get corrected so I am tired of argueing with people

I just tell people I have a Icon jacket and then they don't want to talk to me anymore

Re: Dainese pronunciation?

I too have heard it pronounced and typically pronounce it "die-neh-seh" or "die-neh-zeh". I have no idea whether the "s" or "z" sound is correct, nobody has commented, regardless of which I use. It seems the important part is that it's three syllables, and the "e" at the end is enunciated (i.e. it's not silent).

Re: Dainese pronunciation?

man, this question comes up a lot! i think someone resurrected an old thread not long ago on the same thing. what's funny is that there are always a lot of varying answers. the one above is from wikipedia, and while it may be accurate... most people will read/ennunciate it wrong.

so..... pronounce it as: "die-ih-nay-zay". that is the most phonetic spelling i can come up with. note that the second syllable is soft/short, more of an accent off the first syllable. at this point, dainese should put a recording of their name on their site or something.

ciao!
