Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
Thanks for the post. I currently have a Vanson jacket but will definetly think twice on my next purchase. I was initially very happy with my jacket and still am with the leather and cut. However, I now realize that they are not the best value. A $500 jacket should at least come with basic street armor. I should't have to shell out an extra 130 bucks to add shoulder and elbow armor, as well as a back protector. There are a TON of other jackets that come with full armor as well as removable liners, for much cheaper. Vanson is better quality? It may be. The leather and cut is great. But I wasn't too impressed when my sleeve stiching started unraveling after one crash. Vanson should stand behind their product and cover such repairs, especially since we are paying a premium for their product.
Vanson dudes, if your'e reading this, its time to cater to your clients needs as well as assess what is being offered by your competitors. You are not the only motorcycle leather apparel company out there, and people are starting to look elsewhere.

Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
That is the worst, man. I am sorry that you had to go through that.
I have been a loyal Vanson customer for years, but the last time I dealt with them directly was four years ago. It sounds like a typical story. Small company spends years building a good rep and blows it all because they can't scale their business.
Thanks for posting your pain, bro. Hopefully it will save others going through the same experience.

dainese makes "nice' stuff, but "really good" is subjective.
they are the most comfortble suit i've ever worn, but that's at the expense of the leather being thin and soft. i've seen what one of these suits look like after an incident on the track.
yeah, all the motogp guys wear 'em, but they've got somebody standing by to give them a brand new suit when they get back to the pits.

Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
i like dainese for the street. reasonable protection and very comfortable. better than a jacket that is so stiff you dont want to wear it at all.
i wouldnt use them on the track. i'd go custom from a local shop (this i learned the hard way).

Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
I wouldn't say that your sitch is based totally on poor service. that crap 'custom' jacket they sent you was a bad product. then they couldn't fix it. I'd think you'd have a decent shot at a case.
now I gotta decide what jacket to buy all over again
