Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
thanks dood.
it's amazing to see how many people are getting turned off of vanson from this thread. i honestly didnt think it would elicit so many responses. The support is appreciated and sincere. And no, it's not a "mob mentality." We're not being irrational here so don't accuse us of it.
Again, it then confounds me that vanson sticks to the "if he isnt going to buy from us again what do we have to gain by refunding him?" argument.
Umm, this is what you have to gain (or lose). Oops!

Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
Thanks for posting and sorry to hear you had to go through this crap. Like most are saying, I'll stay away from Vanson from now on. This is similar to my Gerbing's electric jacket story. Very poor service and completely poor fitting "custom" jacket. And never a response from them after repeated tries from me. >

Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
This thread was enough for me. No Vanson for me. Alpinestars. I'll let you know how it works out.

I just now noticed this thread... No Vansons for me either.
Im sure this thread has cost them several times the amount of your deposit, what a stupid company.

Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
If you guys really want to make a difference, try sending Vanson a letter instead of just posting up here that you won't buy leathers from them. I'm pretty sure that they're not even looking at the thread anymore. If you really want to make a difference, let the company know, not the DML. The solidarity is nice and all but it really doesn't do anything that the company will notice. As for people that have *actually* had a problem with Vanson, Ken's contact details are in this thread and he has expressed a desire to resolve outstanding issues. Just because the company (rightly or wrongly) couldn't resolve ASH's problem the way ASH wanted it resolved doesn't mean that they're not willing to resolve other people's problems.
(I'm not speaking as a mod here by the way, just a guy who had an excellent experience with Vanson via Ken)

Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
speaking for myself, i have sent letters. i have asked to speak with the owner. I was denied, verbally.
as for the letters, they have been ignored. i would expect any future communication would be ignored as well.
but i agree letting the owner know directly would be a guaranteed method of getting the message across. whether it would be effective- or heeded- is another story entirely.

Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
I know Ash, you've made an effort and have been turned away. That honestly makes me sad but my point is still valid. A letter from one dude who's pissed is one thing, a letter from a bunch of other members saying they're not going to buy Vanson *because* of your experience is another. I just think people posting up in here how they're not going to buy Vanson is pointless. If, like you, they've tried other options like letters and contacting Ken then I can understand but just saying "I'm never going to buy Vanson" doesn't achieve anything, all their doing is having a bitch and fueling the fire. There's an employee of Vanson who has offered to help solve issues and I bet no one except you, who seems to be genuine in his efforts to reach an acceptable solution, has contacted him. I certainly don't agree with the outcome of your situation (of course, I don't know all the facts either) but Vanson has to do what is right for them too, it might hurt them in the long run but they won't find that out with people randomly not buying Vanson gear will they? I doubt they'll even get the slightest inclination that there's an issue if they were to guage purely based on DML members who decided not to buy Vanson at some point in the future.
I'll say it again, if you've had problems, talk to Ken, he does want to help.

Re: Vanson Leathers complaint
Ash,
Why not sue them in small claims court. If you explained to the judge exactly what you posted here, I'm sure you would get your deposit back plus.
I even doubt Vanson would even show up to court.
I'm glad I read this thread as a local Ducati dealer carries Vanson and I was considering buying some pants and a jacket.
I'll stick with Dainese which I already own and like.
