What's the 1 or 2 under my name in my profile?

Some recently asked this question via PM, so I thought I'd share my response in case others were wondering. I'll toss it into the FAQ section.

Hey Spidey,

My profile use to say I was Level 1, now I'm a 2. What does that mean?

The short version: Nothing really. ;D

The long version: If you're not signed up as a TI member (where you would automatically get 5 TI stars), then you get the yellow stars by your name based on the number of posts you have.

When you get 50 posts, you get a second star. When Michael set up the TI member stars, he had to put something in each person's profile (a software glitch) who wasn't a TI member to govern the number of stars they had. That's why the number appears in your profile. Thus . . .

Level 1 (1 yellow star, 1-49 posts)
Level 2 (2 yellow stars 50-99--? posts)
Level 3 (3 yellow stars 100--249 posts)
Level 4 (4 yellow stars, 350-499 posts)
Level 5 (5 yellow stars, 500+ posts)

Again, this only applies if you're a not a TI member.

Well, the new board owners require you to pay to remove some of the ad content, and that gives you the status on the side.

He's banned, because he also visits other sights, such as the DMF, which is user based still, rather than ad-based.

Yes, and because he publicly left here and was one of those that "leaked" the new dml look a day or two before the redesign.

Basically, VS saw him as bad for their bottom line so he's gone.

Can you imagine a dml without spidey?

Just to point this out... if you mention the new site where Spidey went, you will get banned. It is much like the site name you are on now... plus a "world wide" at the end, prior to the org. This is going to get me banned again, but I have asked them to close my account, so hopefully a ban will be equivalent to closing it.

I will be leaving this site as soon as they close my account and stop sending me spam emails.
