Handlebar options for Monster 620

My wife has a 2006 Monster 620. She is quite short so we have added the GenMar bar risers to shorten her reach to the handlebars. However she still gets sore wrists and back when riding for any long time periods. She wants a more upright riding position. We are considering swapping the stock bars for the Rizoma MA001 bars. They appear to have a higher rise and a little more pull back. Does anyone know if that is correct? Will she notice a difference compared to the stock bars or is the difference insignificant? Also, will there be a problem with cable lengths if we continue to use the GenMar risers?

couple more thoughts
think about brake and clutch levers
after market levers might fit her hands better
and make sure they are angled properly

Thanks for the suggestions and information. We will look into the risers at twisted throttle and also the brake and clutch controls.

You might want to expand your search out of just the Ducati/street world for bar options. The bars om my CRF450R Supermoto are the ProTaper CR High bend. Very similar sweep to the OEM S2R 1000 bars with about an inch more rise. Check ProTaper and Renthal's sites plenty of different bends and rises in the dirt world.
