What's changed for 2017 since last year?

I don't think Ducati made a 1200R for 2017.

No changes that I'm aware of in the UK. Perhaps they just ensure that the MY is always shown. On the main site, it would say "NEW" next to the model if it was

It doesn’t make sense to have the "S" version with better features than the "R". Something is brewing.

I don't see that they would release the R in 2016 and then change it in 2017 - doesn't make sense.

I just see that in order to keep the current Monster line-up going, they've added some fancy bits (currently available in their line-up) to the S model to stretch out some more sales.

Perhaps a whole new monster in 2018 then ?

That may be a distinct possibility. However, we have a member of this forum that claims to have a 2017 R. I also know someone else who claim they put a deposit on a 2017 "R" but I have no details.

I see your point but that would also imply that their "Flagship" model is not their Flagship which does not make sense either.
