Hello!
I bought for my Monster 1200 2 pairs (front and rear) of ducati performance led indicators 96680201A and 96680231A. Surprisingly there aren't any resistors or realise included. The DP indicators are so tiny, that I can't hardly imagine, that they do have resistors inside.
Do I have to buy extra resistors (what type? maybe any example) or do Monster 1200 (normal version) have built-in function to manage led Ducati Performance indicators.
best regards
I just installed the DP LED turn signals on my 1200 this weekend. Here are some pictures showing the difference in light sizes and what they look like on the bike.
I'm failing to see how these are a straight plug n' play. I disconnected the leads from the stock blinkers and plugged the connector wire given by ducati into the new indicator, but now I don't know how to plug the stock wire into the ducati one. Here's what I'm talking about:
There should be a wire up under the instrument panel that is plug and play with the plug you are holding. Follow the wire with the metal tabs up to the other end under the instrument panel. There will be a rubber block holding a bunch of plugs. You will plug in there.
tofur, as stated by mtb, you plug that connector in your hand into the male end that is tucked into the rubber block where the turn signal leads are held, right in front of instrument panel. I found it much easier to push connected cables out of the block, disconnect OEM and plug in new LED then push connector back into the rubber block.
Awesome, thanks for the pics! Thanks also mtb! I was over thinking it, never occurred to me to remove the whole stock wire and replace it with the ducati supplied one.
My dealer gave me part 96680201A for the front turn signal but the hole looks way too small to fit the rubber end of the new turn signal in there. Did he give me the wrong one?
Hey Nathan,
You need the lights that bolt on, not the ones with the "plug" for the front headlight. I returned mine to the dealer and got the correct ones. Fit great. Good luck.
Hi, I was just wondering if Ducati Performance LED turn indicators 96680231A are including the wire adapter from the 2-wires pin to the plastic male connector of the motorcycle. Many thanks...
gianvi, take a look at the post above from 05-06-2015, 09:00 AM. The DP indicators bring everything you will need to Plug-And-Play. No splicing, no resistors, just replace and ride.
For the front ones, remember to ask specifically for the indicators that go on the sides of the healdlamp (if you want them there) otherwise they won't fit.
I put 96680201A on the rear of my 1200R, but the instructions (and fit) said to keep the base extensions for the OEM signals, so mine still stick out a bit farther than the ones I see in the pics. Did I miss something as far as installing them w/o the bases??
The signals in the pics earlier on this thread are mounted on a tail tidy kit, that's why they look closer to the body. With the OEM base they are mounted on the same place as the regular ones, so they will stick out the same way.
I actually did mine at the same time as installing the Evotech tail tidy for the 1200R, which it seems wanted me to use the OEM signal bases since they fit the indentation of the tail tidy.
