Thanks... in all honesty, do you guys feel these guards are really needed, or are they just bling? Seems to me things could still get into the holes of the guards, like bugs and pebbles, making it even harder to clean out.
Ya I figured. I was thinking about just springing for the kit and add it to the list of mods. Are they all easy to install? And, how is cleaning them? Seems with the added guard, bugs and stuff will be harder to clean out.
Just checked mine....there are a couple of small rocks that are caught in the stock guard, but they don't make it past the Evotech guard. The Evotech guard sits behind the factory guard. Seems to be working well.
I was up in the area of the Dragon last week. That's where the rocks came from, I also picked up a stick. That could have gone thru the cooler, the stick was old and rotting. It got thru the slots in the Duc guard. Scared the hell out of me, realizing how close i was to a break down.
The front tire looks the same, they've been repaving outside of my work for the last 3 weeks. This is after I rode about 200 yards down clean fresh paved road and through 3 levels of a parking garage before stopping. I'll try and take the oil cooler guard off tonight and see what is in there.
Anyone have issues installing the oil cooler screen? The additional thickness of the screen slightly changes the alignment of the forward mount. At least it did on mine. I may drill it out a little.
Thinking I need this now knowing my area is infested with rocks and debris. I got the Engine guards from Evo-tech and love them. Wish I just pulled the trigger on these the same time.
Has anyone noticed any effect on the temperature at all?
