NOOB needs advice on buying 696

I am looking to get my first bike. 09 696! Any advice on what I should be looking to pay OTD? I know bikes are fetching a premium becuase of high gas prices but I;m not willing to bend over quite yet. I'm in Martinez and have been shopping at ACE MOTORSPORTS in concord. Thanks for your help! ;D

I dunno what the prices are in teh states

but where I live a friend of mine just bought one for $10,500 incl registration and everything.. all he had to pay was insurance
