SFPD/CHP radar traps on 280 Pedestrian overpasses
Yep, you read that right. I saw a couple of plain clothes LEOs with a radar gun on a tripod, calling in "targets" to waiting cruisers and moto cops this morning. I've noticed a few "odd" guys just hanging out on several overpasses in recent weeks, but this was the first clear view of what they were doing.
Heads on a swivel kids. 360 degree awareness. Damn.... I liked it better when all I had to worry about were snipers and IEDs. [laugh]

Must....resist....trash....talking....cops....
I saw CHP doing this after the GP race at Laguna. They were only pulling over bikes and letting speeding cars go without so much as a nod. They had 7 or 8 motorcycle cops lined up on the freeway entrances.

It seems like it moves around. A couple of months back they were all over 101 in Marin.

Since I'm on my phone I can't edit so I'll double reply...0you should call in suspicous terrorist activities taking place by persons on overpasses... Report it to HLS instead of the police.

Was that near Daly City / SF, or further down the peninsula?

First pedestrian overpass, just north of Ocean Ave. But they change locations o n a random basis.
Funny, I think that looked a little like an RPG. Hmmm, maybe I should alert the authorities? [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

See, when you have that thought your first reaction is probably to shoot back ;D That'd be bad...

Re: SFPD/CHP radar traps on 280 Pedestrian overpasses
Ha, ha, ha.... You guys are crackin' me up.
Anyone else ever been tempted to pull over when they see a cop sitting in "speed trap" position and just start bull$%&tting with them. I'd love to cruise up to the overpass and walk up to the plain clothes cop and be like "hey, whatcha doin' there? Mind if I have a look-see at yer machine?". [laugh]
Keep in mind, too... If you get nailed by these guys always fight it. Same goes for aircraft patrols. In case of a court date both the witnessing officer and arresting officer must show up in court at the same time. The odds are in your favor. I got off of a reckless driving charge that way. Man was the arresting officer pissed. It was a BS charge anyway. Someone was looking out for me.
Oh, and the obvious.... Never be the fastest moving vehicle on the freeway. This has worked for me pretty well. Let someone else get nicked.
