Default Not feelin' the love in the Bay...

I recently moved down from (now sunny!) Seattle to freezing cold SF ;D and have noticed that unlike folks up in Washington, other riders here don't seem to wave and few wave back.

Is there some different wave that's done down here, or are folks just too busy covering their clutches with all the hills? :

Just curious,

Leonard

The riders in the city don't normally wave to other riders. Once you're in the hills, waves abound... I dunno why.

Tis true. There are so many riders in the city you'd never have two hands on the bars. Similar to the idea that you'd wave at a rider in the hills, but you maybe wouldn't make a point to say hello to every rider at Zeitgeist or Alice's.

Speaking of which, stop by Zeitgeist tonight and come out with us to Alice's tomorrow if you haven't planned on it yet!

Just got home and saw your response enzo. Forgive my ignorance -- what are Zeitgeist and Alice's?

I get waved to pretty often.

If I wave I almost always get waved back unless its a cruiser. Not sure why but cruisers hate me for some reason.

The peace sign seems to be a common wave out here.

Thanks
Robert =)

Thanks! I'll definitely try to make it out next time. Is this generally a Ducati folk event or is it a general gathering?

Zeitgeist is where we meet every month, but anyone's welcome. Keep a look-out on this board during the last week of the month.

You're in for a treat if you haven't been to Alice's (or rather the parking lot across the street). I was there on Sunday and it was packed with just about every bike imaginable, along with a bunch of vintage race cars, bicycles, etc. It's a great place to meet lots of cool people, drool over bikes, tell tall tales, etc. That and it's smack in the middle of what apparently are some of the best riding roads in the country.
