Re: I might as well shred my license now!
[laugh] yeah, I mean you were pretty slow before on the old bike. You definitely needed a bit more oomph to validate yourself as a rider.
(that's great, man! Enjoy and be safe. [thumbsup])

Re: I might as well shred my license now!
So I took the new toy out for a buzz yesterday afternoon to Redowwd Rd. Since I know that road pretty well, I thought it was a good first impression road. Well I have to say that after one lap I was going faster on the 1098s than the S4R! It seemed like I was going slower because the ride was much smoother, but the speedo told a different story. The turns almost seemed like non-events in that they just came and went.
The motor, even though i haven't wound it up past 8K yet, is turbine smooth with addicting torque. The power really is available almost anywhere you want it the rev range.
The brakes i have to say are very very very powerful, one finger is all it will ever take to bring this thing to a halt. One side note is that the brakes make a cool whirring sound when you really grab a bunch!
The Ohlins set up is stiff until you throw it deep into a corner, then the suspension really shines!
I will post up pics soon!
