what makes your day during a ride?

just a fun post to see what makes you smile when arriving at point B from point A...i like to ride into work whenever i can, being really busy i don't get as much "bike time" as i would like, and the bike makes my trip into work just so much fun...

i get a smile when i can zip ahead of 5-6 cars that are stopped at a light and the right lane is littered with parked cars but i can quite easily fit by...makes me realize why i started to ride...i always sat in my car thinking "i could do that if i had a bike"...

I love the exposure that goes with riding a bike. Wind on your chest, feeling cool in the shade, and warm in the sun. The other day I was riding through a swampy area and I could smell the soil in the air. Loved it!

The other side of exposure is vulnerability and a part of me likes this and doing everything I know to be safe. And it seems there's always something new to learn.

well, i found one more thing to amuse myself on the way home...i usually take bloor street from avenue to parkside between 4-6pm, no stopping or parking allowed in the west bound lanes at that time...what i like are the scattered cars along the way that feel they can do just that...i like to find the ones that idle in their car with their window down, sometimes having a nap would be a bonus, consider it extra points...just as i pass the window i'll pull in the clutch and yank the throttle, scares the living shit outta them, but then hey, they shouldn't be there in the first place...i should also adjust one of my windhsield washer jets on my car to point out to the right, give 'em a bit of a soaking...i can't wait till i get the termi's on my bike next year...loud and proud...

Kids are the best. I was riding home from work yesterday, sitting at the lights. A little boy (5 or 6yrs old) is crossing the street and can't take his eyes off me. His mom is gabbing away on the cell phone completely unaware. I wave at the kid who is getting dragged by his mom as he keeps twisting around to look at the bike. [laugh]

yeah, kids in the cars are hilarious too, they can turn their heads 360 just to keep looking at the bike...i have a lady at work that has her daughter in with her in the mornings, she parks next to my bike, her daughter thinks it's the coolest thing...monsters just have the coolest sound...

The kid thing gets me every time , their eyes look like they are gonna pop out of their heads.
