Re: 695 vs 800 review?
Hi Balboa,
The day after meeting you I had a brief ride (maybe 2 to 3 minutes) in a parking lot on a stock 2006 S2R800 with about 9K mileage. So, its not an exhaustive comparison but here are some of my observations:
1. The rider sits higher on the 800. The stretch across the tank the handle bars also felt longer. Not uncomfortable just different.
2. The gear shift felt smaller and closer to the machine. I had to change my foot position and angle in a little more. However, the whole clutch, gearing response was exactly like the 695.
3. The spedo/tach display had a silver color instead of all black on the 695)
4. The S2R sounds much nicer. I have the stock exhaust and while I watched and listen to the other rider ride my 695 I thought my 695 sounded weak and ratltley. I think your Termis sound deeper than the stock 800.
5. I liked the feel of the front suspension on the S2R. My 695 forks feel a bit soft (non-performance) when I go over bumps. I like a stiffer ride.
6. The torque was nice on the pull outs. I have no complaints with my695, but the 800 is also very nice.
