Default 2 Dark Monster sightings this week-end

Monsters are everywhere.

On Friday I was riding along hwy 26 through the Blue Mountain area and spotted a 695 Dark. His 695 had the upgraded Termi exhaust (wow they sound great) and he gave me some ideas for my own mods.

Then on Saturday I participated in a rider training course up at Seneca College (King Campus) and one of the guys had a 2006 S2R 800 Dark. He let me ride it to compare with my 695 and it was neat to see the differences. The S2R is sweet.

Anyways, the Monster population is growing and so far all the riders are very cool. I also mentioned the DML to both and they said they might drop by and check out the DOCTOR area for group rides, info, etc.

Yup. Thanks for coming over. I enjoyed our conversation and hearing your cool bike.

Maybe the DOCTOR folks will organize a meet somewhere this summer?

Hell couldn't get any of my buddies out for a ride yesterday, didn't feel like a solo to Campbellville so I went to Cambridge had a coffee and took the backroads to Paris and wandered around at a Old Hot rod show ( I think the Vintage motorcycle group meet there in a couple of weeks) saw a really sweet old Alfa Romeo, though it look like it had a Renault transmission (weird). I'm in for rides too, lets do it.

I would like to hear your opinion on the differences between the 695 and the s2r 800. With the changes that I have made on my 695 I should have the same power as the 800, just not the lengthy powerband. Let me know. Also, I need 200km more to reach the 2500km break in... then I can open her up a little. I am interested in where you are making your shifts and when you are starting to lose power at the top of the rpm's. Ride safe.

This should be a separate heading but tells us what you have done, pipes and chip or carb work and opening up the air cleaner usually gives you a earlier surge(RPM) and more intense hit. Thats what it did to my old 900 SS SP (96) However displacement has its advantages and the feel of a less than 695 to a 800 will always be different (not worse) just different less reciprocating mass (Pistons etc) so it might rev a little freer but not have the same kick (torque) all depends on what they start as and what was done. Ducati's are corner carvers, sweeper dream machines the feeling at a 45 degree angle on a fast sweeper on a duck is really why most of us go back to them other than the fact that they are unique and cool and sound sweet etc etc A 60 HP duck is still a dream on a fast sweeper in comparison to just about anything else. There is a reason that Ducati's excel on race tracks and you don't see lots at Cayuga or any other dragstrip.

To answer your question, just the typical Termi upgrade from the dealer. 2 into 1 into 2 exhaust, electric unit, carbon cans with the baffles removed and the open air box. I could not believe the weight of the old parts when I picked them up... just on weight saving it is a nice change. I agree, carving is the reason I went for a Ducati, I have been a Harley-Davidson rider previous and now I can't go back. Straight line I know any punk with a riceburner will hand me my ass, however that is not my game... you know loving life and everything. I am still waiting to hear the differences between the 695 and 800 in rider feel and general performance. I do have to say that the lower seat height was a significant reason that I went for the 695. I will put up a different posting asking the same question.
