Default Warm up question - how long?

In cold weather (like today) how do you know when the engine is warmed up enough before riding the bike?

Reading the manual it says up to 5 minutes or until the RPM's get to 1400 to 1500.

Is this what you guys do?

I use the engine temp display , it will tell you when the engine is up to temp when it stops flashing

Start it up, put your helmet on, ride it gently until it comes to temp, the rail away.

That way, you warm up your engine, your tires and your mind all at the same time.

(Engine temp and engine oil temp are pretty much the same, I'm sure that's what corbo was talking about.)

I've never warmed mine up for more than 30 seconds and with 75,000 km's on it I don't think it's done any harm.
