Default 2009 Ducati Desmosedici Monster Concept

Ducati's road-going MotoGP replica, the Desmosedici, is the raciest street-legal machine ever available to the public. Its GP-derived 990cc V-Four motor kicks out around 200 horsepower to the rear wheel, creating a top-end surge of power that inhales run-of-the-mill literbikes.

But behind the Desmosedici's aerodynamic bodywork is a riding position that is kindly referred to as "committed." The less-limber among us would describe its ergos as "torturous."

But what if you could get that gloriously devastating motor in a naked sportbike with upright ergos? Well, the Ducati factory briefly toyed with this fanciful idea, according to European contributor Tor Sagen who commissioned this photo rendering from Italian designer Luc1.

That is what they need to do with the 696 chassy. I would have purchased one had they put a real motor in it. Its just that I have never riden anything with less than 100 bhp. I crave the grunt, and power on command kind of ridding. Ducati would be smart to install the 848 and or 1098 motor in the new chassy.

I would have to get me one. That much power on a monster is just gross. oh yeah gotta get me one and another for a back up lol. But even the 1098 motor option or the 848 option, would be so worth it!

I love the idea but i'm not a huge fan of the 696-type styling yet. If the y slung that engine under the trellis frame then we'd have a winner in my book. I'm not one to stop progression though, and it might grow on me. Regardless, that's a sick idea and I wouldn't turn it down if I had the chance to own it! lol

They should probably go ahead and do it so they can shut the retards at Suzuki up about their crappy B-king!!! hahaaa
