Default lorenzo's Chinese FP1 highside

I'm not sure if all of you have had a chance to see this, so here's a link to Jorge Lorenzo's highside in FP1 yesterday...

Holy s#@t! I'm wouldn't be surprised if he didn't show up on radar flying that high in the air!! Hope he's OK, besides the obvious bruising. A badly busted ankle would really screw up his amazing rookie season. Haven't seen a highside that big since the old two stroke 500GP days. Luckily. :P

That's ugly - update from Superbike Planet. Not much info yet

an ryder, on the ground in china

Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo just took a big highside in first practice. He was flicked over the top coming 'round the very long, slow left that comprises Turn two. It looked like an off-the-throttle crash. He appeared to land on his knees. He sat up and appeared to be holding his right leg. TV has just shown pictures of activity around the medevac helicopter, and rumors say he has damaged his ankle. Rossi finished the session quickest from Stoner with the rest a long way back. Pedrosa and Dovizioso were third and fourth.

Lorenzo (re-)fractured a bone in his left ankle, and has "severe trauma" to his leg.

Like James, all I can say is that the bike-camera shot brings back some bad memories...

A little birdy told me Rossi disabled his traction control to see if Lorenzo can actually ride. Guess not.

Rossi 1
Traction Control Generation 0

:P

I suppose you all know I'm a huge Rossi fan. Sorry, can't help myself.

It looks like his front end twitched out and then the rear swung around after the transition. Unfortunate scenario and probably not one that would happen too often. Unlucky for him.
