Default Sat April 26 Demo Day

Hey guys I have a question. For those who have gone to a previous AMS open house with demo rides, should we or shouldn't we bring our gear? My main concern is having to ride an unfamiliar bike in a tight formation group and go at speeds I rather not. We went to the Harley demo earlier this month and was disappointed that this was the set up. I was hoping to take a bike and get the feel of it in their training course area, not all around Denton.

Thanks in advance.

I would guess "yes" to the gear and "no" to closed course.

Is the Duc Truck going to be there?

I guess it could be my time to test ride the HM and the Sport 1000

I don't see anything on the AMS website

I got a cute little invitation in the mail yesterday. It doesn't seem like it's a "demo day" like what Eurosport had last weekend just an open house. The invitation says demos will be available, and that there will be some "exclusive bikes" on display .

I'd definitely bring your gear.

I've test ridden (sp/proper usage, Scott? > ) three Ducatis; once was at a demo day in Alvarado and it was a group ride. The pace was not by any stretch extreme. Useable to determine handling, acceleration, etc. The two other times were during the week and they just let me take the bikes 'round for a brief spin.

The group ride thing, at any rate, was great - no pressure to keep a stupid pace or frustrated at a lack there of... All depends on the group leader I guess. You might get more personalized attention if you could take a test ride during the week?

I agree with the replies so far. Not a hardcore demo day, just an open house that they have occasionally. Sodas, bottled water, hot dogs, etc. has been the plan in the past. They'll be displaying some new apparel probably. I am pretty sure the big Ducati N. America 18 wheeler full of bikes will not be there. Most likely it will be Scott, Giannis or some other staffer that takes small groups on a street ride. I know that is what Scott has done in the past. When the big rig is there they have a very organized demo ride program. Seems like they lasted 40+ minutes and had Ducati people in front and at the rear of a tight group of riders. At least that is what I saw.

I would for sure take your gear if you are going by car. I don't know about them having loaner gear. Maybe they do, I've never needed to ask. I am certain if there is a bike you would seriously like to try out they will accommodate you. That's the reason they are there, to sell you stuff! [thumbsup]

Hope to see you guys there!

AMS has update their site to include this weekend's open house.

Anybody want to hit up AMS then maybe over to Storm Cycles in GP to look at some Urals/Vintages?
