Comin' to your 'hood.
I am moving! (...in August)
And will be joining you folks in Dallas.
Now, I've only been to Dallas once, so any advice on places to go and things to see would be much appreciated. Especially if they are appealing to newlywed's.
I'm looking forward to the move, and getting the chance to ride with new people!

Re: Comin' to your 'hood.
There is no place to go or nothing to see in Dallas other than this group. Lived here my whole life and it's filled with mean, bad drivers that suck. Please be careful on your bike... I mean it. I hate to be such a buzzkill so early in the morning but if it wasn't for Jen and I needing to live in the area because of her son and his Dad we would have moved 10 minutes before I started this post!
Seriously, if you can live in Ft.Worth do it! I was born and raised in Dallas (after half a century I've earned the right to be critical! [laugh]) and I have always liked Ft.Worth better. More laid back, friendlier people, cool arts district... even has a much better zoo! Dallas just likes to think it has all that... gee, I wonder why ALL the major league sports franchises are moving to Tarrant County?? Excuse me, I digress... as usual.
James is right, what we lack in other living amenities (like good curvy roads) we make up in being able to ride year round. We did a group ride (16-17 of us) the first weekend in January!! 275 miles in really nice 70+ degree weather! Forget all my other BS... move here for this group and Advanced Motorsports! These folks are the only good reason I can think of to still live here!!! [thumbsup] [laugh] We'll be seeing you soon I hope!
fastwin
ps subliminal suggestion.... Ft. Worth!

Re: Comin' to your 'hood.
Ft. Worth, where the west begins
Dallas, where the east peters out
Who said that, Will Rogers??

Re: Comin' to your 'hood.
We will be moving as close to the SMU campus as possible, as I will be beginning law school this fall. (Engineering was fun and all, but its time for a graduate degree).
I'm looking forward to the weather - I was warned how hot it could be by a family friend, then they asked where I was living currently and when I told them Memphis, they told me I'd be happy to enjoy less humidity during the hot part of the year.
My only visit to Dallas thus far was in somewhat rainy weather, and it was great nonetheless. Having been around Memphis and Atlanta drivers for so long I'm ready for any crazies that might be out there.
Here's what I ride:

And me and the soon-to-be Mrs.: (pending I can link to a facebook photo)
