Remember that thing I said? Forget about it. Pretend it never happened.
So, after much hoopla and soul searching, I've changed my mind about selling the Sport Classic. :
I've decided to keep it at least one more riding season and then reassess my desire/reason/logic/insanity for wanting to sell it.
I had many, many, many positive comments about the bike. I had 2 serious buyers, and one fell through at the last minute - which is when I started having second thoughts about selling. You can partially thank "Mrs. Phife" for giving me that extra nudge. While spending hours detailing the bike with a toothbrush for "glamour shots" for one serious buyer in Denver, I started to feel pangs of seller's remorse. At the same time, my wife keeps walking by me as she's doing yard work jabbing me with with comments like, "I can't believe you're selling that bike. It's soooo cool!" and "Aren't you going to regret selling it?" Darn the logic!!!!!!!!!!! Why can't you people stop it!
>  ---> "Keep the bike!" ---> :-\ <--- "Sell the bike!" <--- :angel:
So.. all of you "little devils" have won this time! BarneePhife olice: will ride again triumphant on his noble steed through another Texas spring and summer! Maybe 6 more months worth of riding will eliminate all ideas of selling from my demented mind all together.
- Jim

[clap] [clap] [clap] Outstanding decision! Yet more good thinking on your part!! I'll go and delete my "bump" posts for your bike in the classified section. Oh, and for God sake, please clone your wife!!! I know about 100,000 motorcycle owners that need a wife like that!!! [laugh] Me included!
Seriously, really glad you are keeping it. Hated to see it and you not show up for rides, lunch, etc.!

Re: Remember that thing I said? Forget about it. Pretend it never happened.
Here, I fixed it fer ya:
Friends, Ducatisti, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to reclaim my Sport Classic 1000, not to sell it.
The cycles that men drive live after them;
The good ones are oft enjoyed by others;
But keep yer d**n hands of my Sport Classic 1000. The noble DFB
Hath told you many ambitious things:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault;
And grievously hath DFB paid.
Yet happily shall BarneePhife keep his Duc.
Here, under company of DFWM hooligans and the rest –
For DFWM hooligans are honorable riders,
So are they all, all honorable Ducati riders –
Come I to speak on my Sport Classic’s behalf.
It remains my friend, faithful and just to me:
But some say the bike is ambitious;
A Ducati Sport Classic 1000 is an honorable bike.
It will forever more bring many smiles home for BarneePhife
Whose memories did the annals fill:
Did this in my Sport Classic seem ambitious?
When the skies have poured, the roads have become wet:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet BarneePhife says he would not ride in the rain;
And my Sport Classic is an honorable bike.
You all did see that on the Munster Run
I thrice attempted a wheel skyward,
Which it did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
Yet Barneephife says he was ambitious;
And, sure, he is an honorable man.
I speak not to disprove what anyone spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all do love Ducatis, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then, to rejoice with BarneePhife?
O judgment! Thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And Barnee hath not lost all reason. Bear with me;
My heart is in the garage (or porch, or wherever the heck you keep the darn thing) with my Sport Classic,
And I must never pause to contemplate my decision to keep her.
Amen!

eeeeeeeeeeehhhh!eeeeeeeeeehhh! the national weather service has issued a severe barneephife warning for tarrant county. there has already been several sightings in this area please take shelter. lock up your valuables (including good looking spouse, daughter or cougar) if you would not like them to be damaged.
