Default the "I can't ride no more" gear sale:

Hey folks,

I'm still alive, and with a healthy supply of painkillers to keep me sane [thumbsup]. I've almost posted a thing or two in the past two days, but sitting in front of the computer for too long is painful, so I usually give up halfway through. In that spirit, I slowly typed the following half of a post, listing some stuff that I won't be able to use but might be able to sell (and someone here might want to buy). I hope this is ok with ya'll...

Since my back decided to break after what was probably nothing more than a 80mph high side on the grass (wimpy backbones! [cheeky]) it looks like the reasonable move is selling the gear I won't be able to use in the forseeable future. I know that this isn't the classifieds forum, but I want to give our group the first chance to get whatever you want/need before putting this on the national boards (shipping would be an ordeal right now).

Anyway, here's the stuff:
  • Dainese perf leather pants size 50 - $300 - worn 3 or 4 times, and during the highside, looks broken in, but no damage at all. Bought at Motoliberty for almost 500 bucks
  • Oxtar Replica boots size 45, white - $85 worn for a few thousand miles, and during the highside. Looks quite used, but no damage at all. Bought new for more than 250 bucks
  • Alpinestars SP3 leather gloves XL, black - $30 Worn for a few thousand miles and during the highside. No damage, but looks quite used. Very broken in
  • Bohn Carbon/Kevlar touring back protector - $70 bought slightly used, worn during the highside. Looks used, but no damage (this is not a one-use protector). Did it's job well (my fractures are due to compression of the spine). This is the touring version.
  • Dainese backspace 2 backprotector - $80 This was Gus' back protector. He just bought a top of the line Dainese one, so this one is up for sale. No damage, looks good.
  • N2 Kangaroo perforated leather gloves, XL - $60 Fantastic summer gloves. Bought at Motoliberty, used for commuting in the summer. Never crashed. Looks great.

This is all I can think of for now. If any of this looks good to you, please let me know. As soon as my pain is more manageable we might be able to see the items exchange hands.

Also, as soon as my pain is manageable we might have a little get together in celebration of me cheating death one more time ;D... But let's take it one day at a time...

Hi Andre,

Man, that is too bad about the gear but I understand.

And a get-together celebration is at the top of the To-Do List. In fact, you might even expect a little visit from your DML friends before then...

Hang in there man - we're pulling for you [thumbsup]

Lisa

Know all about spasms brother, don't bother apologizing to this group. Did you get my reply to your last PM, which actually was a reply to my PM :P. My computer acted funny after I sent the reply, I sent it at 4:15 today... just wanted to make sure you got it. Let me know. Like I said, for some reason my computer had a vapor lock and wouldn't tell me if it went through. Hope you are doing well... if not go take another pain pill, that's what they are for! Follow Alan's treatment... mix in a good rum and coke, damn good advice!! [thumbsup]

Brian,

I never got a reply from you... Could you send it again?

BTW, an interested party has asked me what the euro size 50 is equivalent to (regarding the dainese pants). I usually wear 32/33 or 33/33 jeans, and these leather pants are a tight fit for me (and they should be tight!).

Andre, I'd be interested in the Danisee back protector... do you have any pics of it?

At the moment I can't really take pictures of anything, but the backprotector is this one: http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1...-MD_G&tier2=95

BTW, the dainese pants are still available, and I should add that I am 6'1 and 170lbs, and they fit me perfectly....

No, the back protector does not have a phone number.

Oh, you meant my phone number... sure, I'll send you a PM.

Don't blame me for the witless joke. Blame my medication [cheeky]
