a new lid?
ok, so let's say my helmet fell down. like, say, from saddle height... all punditry aside, I'm a bit on the fence for being a cheap-ass... or is that a gambler?
the pavement did leave chips in the finish. and, well, we all know what they say about lids and drops.
anyway. I think the poll speaks for itself. and no, "boobies" is not an option.

Re: a new lid?
So let's see.... You have this top of the line helmet and it fell off of the seat and got scratched, and you're wondering if that has compromised the crash protection capabilities. Excuse me for a second........ [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh].... if you believe that then you are wasting your money in the first place
On the other hand if you want to get a new lid because the old one isn't pretty anymore then be my guest. I don't think anyone would rag on you for that. much

Re: a new lid?
well, I did ride half of last week on it, so... [cheeky]
it's just that sometimes I tend toward the paranoid. so, y'know... esp. when it comes to head injury. been there, done that.
but, for the record, it was flung from the bike when the cable lock was opened... no weight in the lid to crush foam, I know, I know... but like I said, paranoid...

Re: a new lid?
Flung? As in ejected with great speed & force or did it simply fall 3 feet under just it's own weight? I wouldn't worry. Believe me if you crash you won't be thinking "Is my helmet going to hold up? And if it didn't you were a goner from the get go anyway.

Re: a new lid?
not great speed, but it didn't drop just straight down...
I think elT took it harder than I did, anyway. stupid me for leaving it w/the bikes in the first place. because, like... I never do that... and then the one time I did... :

Re: a new lid?
I don't remember what kind of lid you have but if it is a concern check with the company and see if they'll do a inspection on it.

Re: a new lid?
Obviously I have my own opinion about this but honestly, bottom line, if you have any kind of doubt in your mind then just get a new one. You don't need the worry. [thumbsup]
