Default New Monster

So what does the peanut gallery think of the 696?

OK 696. I would have to say I'm not a fan. I don't like the exhaust. but that can be changed. The biggest thing and the deal breaker for me is the sub frame thing going on. :P

Yeah, I would have thought ducati could have come up with more stylish high mounts. As far as rear ends go, nobody does it better than the S3. They got everything right on that one.

I also don't like the hybrid frame. I'm 50/50 on the new headlight, but I definitely like the new DSS.

oh, and thumbs down on the replaceable tank skins. Kinda gimmicky for an Italian product.

I think the swingarm, front brakes/forks, and (weird little detail, but whatever) the way the lower cyl. header is routed are nice bits on the bike. everything else, I think can suck it.

it does, however, look 'modern' as far as nakeds go. modern just isn't necessarily my bag.

Thanks to the single color frame and subframe, the white and black models don't look too bad. If the 'skins' don't look too cheesy in real life, and swapsies with the cans, i'd consider it.

Besides, I was thinking about painting the current duc white, and this one is already white. With a big bump in power! Oh, and for only about $7000 more than painting what I gots now. :P
