Default Honolulu condo rental

Hey gang!
I'm planning a trip to Honolulu at the beginning of April - for a work-related conference, and need your help!

The conference is in Honolulu, so I'll stay there for 4-5 days and was thinking on renting maybe a condo? There'll be 4 or 5 of us, and I don't care for hotels that much. Is condo even a good idea? Any tips for a good one?

I'll have about a week of time to spare afterwards, and have no idea where to go and what to see. Should we stay in HNL and do just day-trips from there? Or would it make sense to go to one of the other islands for some time?

I'm certainly very excited to go, but kinda lost (as you probably can tell)
Cheers,
Loni
P.S. Too bad they don't let me take bike as excess luggage, we could've gone on a ride

you can always rent a bike >

oahu's got some neat stuff to see, depending on what you're into. some folk like the beaches, but I just like riding past them ;D

hiking, drinking, and food, I could possibly help, though.

you'd have to travel to the neighbor islands if you want to see volcanoes. less crowded, but I know the last time I was on maui the traffic was almost as bad as it is here
