I might be getting a Duc
I'm seeing if Euro Moto is willing to take my SV as a trade on a 1997 916 they have for sale... I don't know if they are even interested in the trade, let alone if they will give me enough to make the deal work, so this is very tentative. Nonetheless, I am that close to finally buying a Ducati (and the Ducati of my dreams, no less) after trying for the last 3 years.

Re: I might be getting a Duc
1997 with 23 000kms, 8995$. Mileage is high-ish for a Duc but for that price its hard to pass up. It has just about every carbon fibre accessory you can buy too, including FBF pipes. The catch is that I need to get a decent trade in price on my SV to be able to work out the finances, so if I can't get that then its a no go. I suppose it depends on how desperate they are to get rid of it.

Re: I might be getting a Duc
23 000Km on 1997 is actually low. a Ducati is always in better shape if has lots of miles under its belt.
my last Monster (S4 916) was probabaly the healthiest Ducati on the road with 26 000Km when it was 2 years old. now with its next owner, still running strong.

Re: I might be getting a Duc
That's good to hear. They are willing to take the SV, mods and all, I just need to have them look at it and then we'll discuss prices... I should know for sure by Wednesday if this is going to happen or not.

I'll hate you for a long time if you get it > .... Yeah I'm jealous .... joke [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] ... man, that'd be awesome, I'd kill for that kind of bike [thumbsup]. 23,000km ... high mileage ... WTF ... I think there is something wrong with people's mentality on mileage (none of you guys of course ) .... 23000 km on a 10year old bike is 2300km a year ... as if none of us were riding that much in a year ??? In a 5 month season that's 460km a month -> 115 a week !!! WTF, I go Montreal, Blainville back and forth and its 50km ... My point is : I'd say it's a normal/low mileage bike .... or am I wrong to think that way ??
Any ideas on the insurance cost ?
Really hope you get it [thumbsup]
Good luck

Re: I might be getting a Duc
I find that it's a low millage bike too for that year. I whent to check it out on the net and the reason why the millage and price is good, it's 'cause it's a rebuilt bike. They say it on the add. Not that I have a problem with that but lots of people are scared of that. I'm not when it comes from a good place and it is. I had a CBR900rr 1994 that was rebuilt more than once and it was one of the best 900rr around. Even a guy with a ZX9 1999 thaugh that he would loose me big time then and he had to lift me the thumb 'cause I was in his tail all the way till 265km/h and he could'nt even take a wheel!!!!!
Anyways, just to say that it was one of my best motorcycle. I even liked it better than my CBR900rr 1999
So I hope you get it.
Well I guess I will have to go to Euromoto to finaly see that fuc*ing badass SV of yours!!!!! lol
Cheers!

Re: I might be getting a Duc
Hey Sivver! So how did it end this morning after me and Oliver left? Are you going for the trade?
