I'm in as long as we can start the ride early enough to get a decent ride in before 1pm. What do you think - 8:30/9am start should be good?

I don't mind starting early (and getting back early), but BBBBBBRRRRRRRRRR!
It's going to be cold up in the hills at that hour.
You want to modify route?

I don’t know how I wound up being the authority here?!?!?!?! I reserve the right to step down from my post at anytime.

I WILL say this: 8:30am departure makes it too cold for a good Mosquito Ridge run (on a day that is supposed to be cold). I’ve been hearing that there is still sand on the road and snow...so maybe we’ll leave it to clear up for another couple of weeks. Here’s some options instead:

1) Barryessa: check out a few of the lesser known roads (that 8 mile stretch behind the corners is supposed to be good) take in some of Hwy 121 and maybe wind up in Healdsburg, Petaluma, or Calistoga for a bite.

2) Foothill “shortie” ride: Salmon Falls, Hwy 49 through Coloma to 193 to G-town for breakfast/brunch...take 193 the other way to Cool and then home OR come back down 193, head south on 49 and check out some grub in Diamond Springs.

3) Fiddletown /Volcano ride: Do the scenic tour thing...head out Latrobe on the South side of Folsom to Fiddle town then through to Volcano. Pretty mellow route (not technical) until you hit this intense little strip of twisties into Volcano. There is a colorful little old west salon/restaurant to have breakfast. Those heading back to Sacramento can battle the Harleys and take 49 to 16 back home.

4) Slab to Bakersfield...lunch and beer on BP!

We won’t be tangling with any of the sport tour peeps. It’s all about putting down some miles and sharing a little company over some food. There will be no hour long fuel stops. =P. Let me know what you milage per tank is and we can keep closer tabs on gas.

Where is Breezy? Boogie? Motored Sports? DucHunter? Moto?

As much as a slab ride to BP for lunch sounds tempting, I don't think it would get me back in Sacto on time.... (maybe next time BP) soooo....
I'm pretty good with any of the three other (read 'real') options - knowing that if I need to turn-around at some point, I will have had a fun ride and be able to return easily as well.

Meet-up at Tower Cafe, 16th and Broadway at 8:30am.
We have had one vote for Barreyessa...I suspect that's where we will end up.

Sounds good, I thought you had them in order of preference too...
See you at Tower
