Visitor in Carmel for NY's eve...ride inquiry.

Hey Gang,

I'll be honest, I poured over the Central threads for all of about a minute looking for some roads to ride near Carmel...

I'm not paying for Pashnit (used to be free ???), and I'm not going to order a map... [cheeky]...that's what the Board is fer!

Anyway, I MAY bring the bike up, weather dependent of course, so, I beg the ?, is a there a close-ish good route 'round them parts?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated...

Well, as a former resident of them parts, I refer you to Carmel Valley Road, either an out and back, or you can connect back in from the north once you reach the 101 corridor. Also, you can run out to Hollister (east of 101 up by San Juan Bautista), and hit Hwy. 25 from the north, heading west into King City, and then 101 back north again. 25 is probably the premier road in that area, although Carmel Valley Road offers a ton of closer-by (to Carmel), slower-speed carving.
