Default Myrtle Beach

Is anyone going down to Bike Week this year? I usually head down with my friends on the Saturday, but this year that's the day before Mother's Day. So, I'll be heading down on Monday the 12th. You know, so I can stay here with the kid and be properly worshipped.

Anyhow, I'm looking for someone to ride with....got a place to stay on the other end. I'm not that fussed about riding alone, but my friends are kicking up a fuss. [But not enough of a fuss to wait the extra couple days to ride with me!]

Default Re: Myrtle Beach

I had been going every year, on one of the Victory's of course. But this year they pissed me off and I'm not going. The Hotel I have been staying at forever out on 501 on the Inter Costal was $80-100 per night, they have suddenly jumped the rate to $180 per night, that is just stupid. I had this discussion when I paid that rate down in Bimirngham last year when I did a track day at Barber, NASCAR was at Talledaga, 55 miles away, and I ended up paying $179 for a Holiday Inn Express - just does not make sense, none of the resturants raised their prices and the hotel does not have an additional cost because of Bike Week. Anyway sorry for my rant, have a good time down there hope you have great weather, let me knw if you need a good route down, including some twistys almost all the way to the James River Ferry. - Gene

Still heading down alone. Loading up my mp3 player with playlists for the ride. Also picked up some RKA saddle bags -- they fit quite nicely.

Gene, I'll take your route suggestions for sure. Depending on the weather I may just want to get down there quickly though. Last year was in the 90's when we rode south!
